So many laugh out loud moments

Lilith and Will are neighbors who don’t exactly get along after nearly a year of them going back and forth the two finally come head to head… in the bedroom that is… I mean, what? No I didn’t type that.

Finally, finally, FINALLY! I have not given a book 5 stars in awhile and this book helped me easily give it the 5 stars! I was laughing out loud in so many spots and rereading lines just to laugh all over again.

I loved Will so hard and Lilith is my damn spirit animal! I loved her personality so much, I wish I could be friends with her.

I really loved this story and I love when these two authors get together and write! I think they write so well together!

5 Stars!

For nearly a year, they’ve been at war.
Cops. Forks. Eggs.
Two feuding neighbors who couldn’t be more opposite, forced to live next door to one another.
Neither is backing down.

She drives him crazy with her loud nineties rap music.
He gets under her skin the way he obsesses over his stupid perfect lawn.

She fantasizes about having sex with the hot nerd—but with duct tape over his dumb mouth.
He has dirty dreams of the bombshell beauty where he bangs the crazy right out of her—nightmares of course.
Anger isn’t the only thing heating up between these two.

They think this is a battle only one of them can win…
The growing attraction between them, though, seems to be far more stubborn than the two of them combined.

Can I get an Amen for Court and most of all for RIN?????

Court is just like the statue of David that he loves. Cold, hard, distant with a fantabulous ass. He’s also Rin unfeeling jerk of a boss. Hid disapproving glares and taunt jaw make her want to prove herself more and more. But she’s too intimidated to speak up until she is blessed with the powers of a red lipstick.

Now, Court aims all his wolfish smiles at her and dare she say flirts with her. Maybe he’s on a mission to make her life hell. Maybe she’ll absolutely love it.

I think I lost important functioning brain cells while reading because of one Court. I freaking love assholes who can’t make up their mind or deal with their overwhelming feelings and COURT WAS THE BEST OF THEM ALL. God how I love him! I just want to hug this stupid giant teddy bear and give him all the love in the World. Also, his growly alpha side made me swoon so damn hard.

Rin, my beautiful sweet summer child! I loved loved loved her transformation. I cannot tell you how proud I am to have read a book which shows such amazing growth with incredible feminist characters. I AM LOVE!! Rin’s character and growth is why I love to read about strong female characters. She took back her power and made life her bitch. And the fact that she has equally badass friends just made me love this story more.

Rin and Court’s chemistry was off the charts hawt. *insert multiple flame emojis* From their first kiss to when they confess their love, I just wanted to cry at how perfect these two were and protect them from this cruel World.

Dudes, set aside your life and read this book. Staci’s stories always make my heart work overtime. She always makes me want more. And, I just want to keep reading Piece Of Work again and again till I can recite it by heart.

Marble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.

His body is as chiseled as Adonis. His lips are as sculpted as David. And his ego is the size of the Guggenheim.

You know the type—wolfish smile and the gravity of a black hole. The kind of man who sucks all the air from the room the second he enters it. My cocky boss thinks this internship was wasted on me, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know.

But he’s wrong, and I’m going to prove it to him. If I can stay away from his devil lips, that is. Lips that cut me down and kiss me in the same breath, leaving me certain he’s on a mission to ruin my life.

And maybe my heart.

Review: FOX by Max Monroe

Fox by Max Monroe
Series: Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, book 3
Genre: contemporary, romantic suspense
Publisher: Max Monroe LLC
Publication Date: May 20, 2018
Rating: ★★★★★

We were promised an epic conclusion to the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, and we were given just that!

Like the two previous books in the series, Fox reveals an entirely different and unexpected aspect to Max Monroe’s writing style. Whereas the first two were more suspenseful that included shocking and unbelievable cliffhangers, this book showcases extremely raw and realistic emotions and delves into the heartbreaking turmoil of loss and despair.

Fox is a devastatingly poignant expression of love and hope. The story concludes the turbulent journey of two people who’ve suffered some of the worst tragedies anyone can endure in life, encompassing the true value of the meaning of life and love.

This trilogy came out of nowhere and, in my opinion, is the best work to-date by the authors. Foxhad me in tears more times than I can remember, breaking and healing my heart at the same time. All it takes is to read the first sentence of this powerful story to know you won’t be the same after reading it. The unimaginable circumstances and struggles both characters experience makes their unique relationship that much more intense and passionate. This conclusion is one to be remembered and leaves a breathtaking impression of unrelenting loyalty and devotion.

Read this book. Better yet, read this entire series. Suspense, heartbreak, love, and acceptance overflows the pages of this emotionally impacting romance series…you do not want to pass them up!

Review: DOWN BEAT by Max Henry

down beat

Down Beat by Max Henry
Series: Dark Tide, book 1
Genre: NA, contemporary, rockstar romance
Publisher: self published
Publication Date: May 19, 2018
Rating: ★★★★★

Rey Thomas – the rock God, the problematic adult, addict, broken and utterly beautiful. He has no care for anything especially his being. His issues run deeper than anyone can see but his behaviour makes it seems everything about him is way past help.

But Tabitha sees his destructive tendencies for what they are, a cry for help. She’ll do all she can to help this broken shell of a man. Even if it means breaking her heart in the process.

First of all, a bloody standing ovation for Max Henry for dealing with issues like mental illness with absolute class and tact. I am in complete awe of how she handled such a delicate subject and honestly, her writing is pure education about what a mental illness really entails.

Tabitha is someone I deeply admire. I love how she went after her dreams and was stubborn to prove her worth. The way she wanted to help Rey, her drive to achieve her goals and the fact that she never wanted to “fix Rey” but only help him see his worth made me utterly adore her. It’s so inspiring to see a character that is so in touch with humanity and love and just basic human decency. I just really truly love this character.

Rey is not a person who is easy to love. It’s difficult to love someone who don’t even like themselves on most days. But once you realize that all they need is patience and someone to hear them out, it’s the easiest thing in the World. That’s how I felt about Rey. My heart constantly heart for him to realize his worth is way more than he thinks, I got frustrated when he put himself in harm’s way, I cried for the way he hurt and in all that I knew I just really loved him.

I understand that I’m talking about Rey and Tabitha as if they were real and that their well being affects mine. But believe me, I was too invested in these two and in the process of reading their story became too real for me. I wanted more than anything to reach out and offer some comfort to these two and honestly, I think this is the proof extraordinary writing. Not many people can do what Max Henry did and now I’m forever obsessed with her.

I learnt a lot while reading this book. I learnt that you cannot save anyone, you cannot fix anyone and fuck you should never try it. But you can certainly help them, you can be there to listen or just be. I learnt that sometimes it is okay if the only person you can help is yourself.

Some call him a rock god.
Others a celebrity bad boy.

Me? I call him the arrogant bastard who stole my concert venue.

His apology? To take me and my violin on tour with the band.
It’s an offer I can’t refuse, even if it does come with strings attached.

Because Rey Thomas isn’t who he seems.

Life isn’t pretty behind the deviant frontman’s facade.
It’s raw, ugly, and at times downright painful.
But it’s real.
And far better than the lie he presents to the world.

The man behind the face of Dark Tide is beautiful in his chaos.
All I have to do is keep him alive long enough to see that too.

DOWN BEAT deals firmly with the subject of mental illness and its associated effects on not only the sufferer, but those around them. If this is something you feel may be a potential trigger for you, I advise you stop, consider if this book is right for you, and if you decide yes, ensure you have a support person available.
Rey’s story is an immensely personal one for me and I would love for you to experience it, but not at the cost of your own health and wellbeing.

Oh holy mother! These dirty filthy bastards can have all the stars in all the universes.

Nathaniel Radcliffe the Third is known for his wealthy, power and the insane way he and his friends are worshiped. He can skewer a man with just one look, bring down empires with the flick of his hands and ruin lives with one deadly smile.

Now, he’s set his sights on Juliette and won’t stop till he has fully conquered her.

Okay HOLY FUCK what even happened here, my dudes? I was left contemplating every life decision that led me to this god damn book because what the fuck did I do right???

I honestly wasn’t expecting to fall in love with all the four men in mere pages but I did and it happened and now I’m cancelled. I can’t even begin to explain my entire thought process through this book because (a) it’s fucking insane (b) it mostly involves me shouting and running into walls and (c) R. Scarlett is a bloody genius whose works cannot be out into mortal words. THERE I SAID WHAT I SAID!

I’m here ready to abandon my entire life for the other books so like no big deal at all.

Prelude in the American Gods series.

Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them.

And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them.

As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.

The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.

Deadly opponents, deadlier minds.

I’d sworn I’d never give him the upper hand, until…

The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years?

He just discovered it… and now he has all the power.

Review: BANE by L.J. Shen

Bane by L.J. Shen
Series: Sinners of Saint, book 5
Genre: contemporary, romantic suspense
Publisher: self published
Publication Date: May 6, 2018
Rating: ★★★★★

Bane’s name defines his entire existence. He was born to cheat, raid and break hearts. And he found his next perfect target.

Jesse has given up boys for life. She wants not one thing to do with their frivolities. Well good for her because Bane is no boy. He’s all man and ready to wreck havoc on her entire life.

Honestly, I should have expected this book to hit me harder than a mofo but I didn’t so all the emotional turmoil is on me. Serves me right for being that idiot.

I keep saying this on and on and it never seizes to be untrue – L.J. Shen knows how to write the fuck out of a story, she bloody knows how to make you fall in love with every character she creates and she knows just how to coerce you into abandoning your life and just read. Frankly at this point she can ask for my soul and I’d be like ‘did you need it yesterday, too?’

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD BANE!!!! This man gave me all sorts of heart aches. At one point, I had to put the book down and walk away cuz let me tell you I WAS NOT EQUIPPED!!! I just want to read this book forever and ever. *ugly crying*
