Man in Charge by Laurelin Paige
Series: Man in Charge Duet, book 1
Genre: contemporary, billionaire romance
Publisher: Paige Press LLC
Publication Date: October 27, 2020
Rating: ★★★★✰

Man in Charge is book one in this brand-new duet from Laurelin Paige, and it should come as no surprise to true LP fans how this book ends. You could say it’s a “cliffhanger”, but it’s more of an intermission in the story line. Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but the story hinted time and again as to what the big “surprise” would be at the end of this book.

This story appeals to fans because of the explosive chemistry, the intriguing story line, and the underlying angst and secrecy that the author is known for. The overall dynamic is a push and pull of emotions that embodies a forbidden romance, with layers of complexity within the relationship of the characters. And in legit LP style, the steamy and seductive elements are completely on par with the bold and irresistible connection the characters share.

I’m excited for the conclusion of this story. After finishing this book by saying “I knew it!” in my head, I need to know how the story line will unfold now that things have become even more problematic, and how (or even IF) they will get their HEA/HFN.

4 Stars!

man in charge

Synopsis:
The Sebastians own this city.

Hell, they own the whole world.

All I want is one little piece of it, a corner that I can call my own.

So when my boss runs away to “find herself”, I seize the opportunity and dive head first into the Sebastian’s glamorous universe. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted—fast paced and high stakes—and, even though I don’t fit in, I’m excellent at faking it.

Until I come face to face with the man in charge, Scott Sebastian, the arrogant, playboy heir with the mind of a devil and the body of a god and a mouth I can’t stop thinking about.

He’s infuriating. He’s a distraction. He’s the man who wants me in his bed as much as I want to be there.

And, if I get too close, he’ll be the one person who could expose me for what I really am—a fraud.
