The Rich Boy by Kylie Scott
Genre: contemporary romance
Publisher: self published
Publication Date: March 9, 2020
Rating: ★★★★1/2

This was such a sweet sweet ride.

We’ve all loved and adored the ‘rich guy falls for a simple girl’ trope. This book had everything amazing about this trope added with an amazing Kylie Scott style twist. I adore the spin she put on such a well loved trope and made it distinctively her own.

Alice is such a sweetheart with a strong will power. I swear hers is the kind of character I crave to read in romance. She knows her worth and won’t let anyone or anything stop her. She has her insecurities and worries but who doesn’t? Her character is so relatable, so loveable. I LOVE the way Kylie writes her heroines. It’s one of a kind.

Beck is such a ray of incredulity. I don’t know how exactly to describe the way I love him. He was so charming in such a pure and honest way. I would have travelled all the way across the world for this man and I rarely ever leave my house. All this man ever wanted was to love someone and be loved in return. He just didn’t know the right way to do that. Then Alice came AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE.

This story is my fave fave fave and I am in love with Alice. She will forever be my favourite. Like yes Beck is incredible and I’ll fight the world for him but Alice owns all of my heart. This story was so different, so refreshing and just so darn sweet. I am positively enchanted.

the rich boy

I’m the type of girl who’s given up on fairy tales. So when Beck – the hot new busboy at work – starts flirting with me, I know better than to get my hopes up. Happily ever afters aren’t for the average. I learned that the hard way.

But how can I be expected to resist a man who can quote Austen, loves making me laugh, and seems to be everything hot and good in this world?

Only there’s so much more to him than that.
Billionaire playboy? Check.
Troubled soul? Check.
The owner of my heart, the man I’ve moved halfway across the country to be with, who’s laying the world at my feet in order to convince me to never leave? Check. Check. Check.

But nobody does complicated like the one percent.

This is not your everyday rags-to-riches, knight-in-shining armor whisking the poor girl off her feet kind of story. No, this is much messier.
