Down and Dirty is book 5 in the Hot Jocks series, but can be read as a complete standalone, featuring an older woman/younger man story line with an unexpected Vegas wedding thrown into the mix.
At this point in the series, we’ve come to fall in love with an array of couples. But this story gives us Landon, a young and sexy rookie on the Ice Hawks, and Aubree, a mature and career-driven siren. As opposite as they appear on paper, the story line weaves their characteristics and personalities together beautifully, capturing the readers attention from the start.
For me, Landon was the absolute star of the book and completely won me over through the entire story. His drop-dead sexiness and adorable charm, coupled with his *ahem* innocence, made him an irresistible bouquet in desperate need of deflowering. His commitment to Aubree was downright swoon-worthy, melting the hardest of hearts with just a few simple words spoken. It’s no wonder Aubree didn’t stand a chance against his alpha-romance. Their attraction and chemistry was evident immediately, but it was the transition from friends to spouses mixed with the emotional ties they formed together that truly caught fire and made the story shine.
I really enjoyed this book and it complements the series wonderfully. It’s a sweet, fun, and entertaining sports romance with the perfect balance of humor, drama, and heartwarming emotions. A definite page-turner, Down and Dirty sets up for what’s next to come in this must-read series.
