Sweet Fate by Laurelin Paige
Series: Dirty Sweet Duet, book 2
Genre: contemporary romance
Publisher: self published
Publication Date: March 26, 2019
Rating: ★★★ 1/2

I don’t know how this happened. I don’t know how we got here.

After reading Sweet Liar, I was so pumped for book 2. I was foaming at the mouth to read more Dylan Locke. But reading this book, I thought I was seeing a completely different Dylan, the absolute opposite of the Dylan I fell in love with.

I DID NOT understand this woe is me life is sucks Dylan and he did this for like 3/4 of the book which I did not get at all. He does get better but at that point I was like DUH?!???

The best part of this book was Audrey FOR SURE and definitely Laurelin’s story telling. Audrey was such a refreshing character. I love her attitude towards life and I adore her for never backing down from what she wants. I want to be bffs with her.

I am definitely 100% excited for the next books in the Dirty universe.

3.5 Stars!

The conclusion to Dylan and Audrey’s story begun in Sweet Liar.

Dylan Locke knows that pining over the young ingenue Audrey Lind is pointless. He can’t offer her what she wants. He definitely can’t give her what she needs. Thank goodness she’s half a world away, and he doesn’t have to deal with his attraction head on.

But fate has other plans for him, and when Audrey once again lands in his path, it’s only too easy to fall back into their easy rhythm. And then their easy banter. And of course, each other’s arms.

He tells himself nothing has changed. She still wants forever, and he still thinks tomorrow is long enough. But watching her search isn’t as easy as he thought it would be, and now Dylan must figure out if he’s really the love Scrooge he professes to be or if he’s been Fate’s willing victim all along.
