Kaine Reynolds relocated his entire life to a remote town with no neighbours in site because wanted to be left alone. He certainly didn’t want a invasive, talkative and absolutely beautiful woman to live right next to him and slowly wreck his entire life.

Piper Campbell was finally rid of her husband and all those intrusive and judgy poeple that made her life hell over the past few months. All she wanted was to live a quite life and spoils her boss and best friends kids for life. What she got was a surly, grunting neighbour who ignited a passion so fierce inside of her that she lost all sense.

Hiding from different pains, Kaine and Piper start a no strings affair, unaware of what disasters or miracles fate has in store for them. 

This story was so emotional and at times so painful, I actually could feel Kaine and Piper’s pain through the pages. Reading this story was such a raw experience, I still haven’t recovered from it.

Piper is a pretty damn strong character and I LOVE that she knew how to kick ass. She has been through so much but she is still pure as gold. I love her spirit and her kindness and her love for life. Watching her journey, seeing her flourish was such an incredible joy.

Kaine, my surly beautiful broken man. I can’t even imagine what this man went through and just thinking about it makes my heart hurt. Whenever he expressed his emotions – verbally or physically – I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry because building a wall is easy af but letting people in after the kind of shit that has happened to Kaine takes a truck load of courage. I just want to hug him and make his life a happy place.

I know there is only one book left to this series but I think it’s safe to say this series ranks pretty high in one of my most favourites ever.
