Stella might have done something really foolish but in her defense the man she kissed was going away with the last carton of her favourite ice-cream and she had no idea it was rock-star Jax Blackwood. With the blizzard just around the corner she did what she had to do in these desperate times. Little did she know that he’ll turn out to be her neighbour. An annoying neighbour who likes to play his guitar naked and flirt with her relentlessly.
She should probably ignore that man for good. There is something about him that she can’t resist, something that calls to her. Her one rule was to never get attached but the more time she spends with him the more easily she falls.
The question is will Jax be there to catch her?
I cannot believe this was my first Kristen Callihan book. What rock have I been hiding under? And why didn’t anyone nudge me to her books??
This story was so emotional I couldn’t even believe a book could make me feel so much. I laughed, cried, empathized and fell utterly in love with Jax and Stella. If anyone needed a true and life altering love, it’s these two.
Jax was such a goddamn sweetheart, I can’t even wrap my mind around it. I can’t really say I know how he felt, I know his struggles but I understood them. I felt his pain and helplessness to a certain degree and just wanted to hold him tightly and never let go. He is too pure for this cruel world and I just wanted to keep him safe. *broken sobs*
Stella is a BAMF. Someone who has been so utterly neglected in life and turns out to be a adorable creature who only wants to help people?? I can’t even deal with how absolutely I love her character. *pterodactyl screeching* I just want to see her slay life and get everything she’s ever wanted. WHAT A QUEEN! I adore badass female characters and Stella makes the top 10 of my favourite female leads. I just wished she had made Jax grovel more. Hehehe!
Hats off to Kristen for dealing with such a sensitive topic with amazing tact. Jax’s issues and his journey couldn’t have been easy to write, it wasn’t even easy to read because there is so much that needed to be said and Kristen Callihan said it all and me proud to have read such a beautiful story.
4.5 rockstar stars!!

Synopsis:
The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.
In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.
Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.
Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.
An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.
Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.
Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.
All we have to do is trust enough to fall.
