Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan
Genre: contemporary romance
Publisher: self published
Publication Date: October 15, 2018
Rating: ★★★ 1/2
Jane hates him and within right reasons. He broke her heart 10 years ago then left her alone to deal with the aftermath. Now he’s back and she refuses to fall for his charm and lies. But the heart wants what it wants even if it’s the dirty player who did her wrong all those years ago.
Weston thought he was over Jane but one look at her and he is back to being the teenager who was desperately in love with her. But he was a stupid kid who made a bunch of mistakes. Now he is ready to make amends and show Jane that they’re meant to be together. All he needs is one chance.
This was a cute short story with the right amount of angst. I was worried that the second chance angle would be unsatisfactory but I was absolutely wrong. Jane had legit reasons for why she was angry with Weston.
Weston was actually pretty clueless about the whole mess he left behind but I LOVE that he knew he was wrong and he knew how to make it right. He’s just a big growly teddy bear who wants to love. His adoration for Jane made me swoon.
I actually couldn’t relate to the characters. I wanted to love it more, enjoy it even more but something or the other just kept being remiss. I love Kendall Ryan books but this one didn’t hit it’s mark that much.
3.5 Stars!!

Synopsis:
I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.
She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.
But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?
But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.
News flash, buddy: I am over you.
