Timid, book two in the Lark Cove Series by Devney Perry, is available now!
Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.
Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.
Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.
A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

Eighty five hundred thousand million stars because WILLA DOON a.k.a. MY TRUE QUEEN.
Willa has been in love with Jackson since she was seventeen. Sure he has never noticed her and continues his short lived flings like there is no tomorrow but that hasn’t deterred Willa. She knows they’ll be together one day. She just needs to work harder to get him to notice her.
Then one day he is at her doorstep, touching her with newfound intimacy and kissing her silly. Willa finally got her wish. She is giddy to start a new chapter of her life; the only problem is Jackson doesn’t even remember anything he said or did that night. Devastated and utterly heartbroken, Willa decides to let go of her childish crush and move on with her life.
I love this book so much I want to run to the top of my building and scream bout it at the top of my lungs.
Willa is in the top ten of my most favourite female leads. I am so in love with her strength, compassion and overall badassery. I would have married her if Jackson hadn’t gotten to her first. I cannot even comprehend the courage it takes to love someone with every bit of your heart but Willa did. SHE DID IT SO GOOD. I want to reread this book and love my Queen all over again.
Jackson is like those giant Vikings who are really just teddy bears on the inside. This man needed someone to love him unconditionally and BY GOD HE DESERVED IT. My heart broke so much for the pain he went through. If he was read I’d hug him for a week straight. It was such a pleasure to see him grow out of his fear and fall for Willa.
I think this is my most favourite Devney Perry book to date. I couldn’t possibly have imagined how much I’d cherish this story. TIMID will make you laugh, cry, ecstatic, warm and everything nice. Also, can I get an Amen for Jackson and Willa being THE MOST STABLE COUPLE EVER???? These two remind me of Leslie and Ben from Parks & Recs (except the angst). Nothing but love for this story!
5 Stars!

Excerpt
I scooched my chair in toward the table, trying to put a little more space between Jackson and me, but he wasn’t having it.
He put both hands on the back of my chair, then leaned in close. “Hi, Willa.”
“Uh . . . hi.” I shivered at the heat from his chest on my bare shoulders.
Why was he standing so close? My parents were right there. Our table was one of four tall, square ones in the center of the room and there was plenty of space between tables.
Plenty. P-L-E-N-T-Y.
But was Jackson using any of that plentiful space?
No sirree. He stayed pressed against the back of my chair, like there were only three inches of usable space behind him, not three feet.
My skin prickled he was so close. I tried to nudge my chair forward again but it barely moved. Sweat beaded on my temples and I pulled in a shaking breath.
Jackson’s woodsy, rich scent was everywhere. It overpowered the stale beer, pizza and peanuts, and I inhaled a deep breath, unable to resist.
Sexy Hot Forest. That’s what they’d call his cologne.
