I LOVE MY JULIAN TO THE MOON AND BACK!! *cathartic screams of love*

Ellen Grant breaks out in hives just thinking about social interactions with people. So what does she do? She creates an entirely different persona; someone she couldn’t even imagine to be like. That’s the only way she can make friends and not launch into a panic attack.

Julian Fairchild is utterly fascinated by the boisterous woman he sees at the coffee shop everyday. Her stories are wild and he can’t help but be drawn to her charismatic personality. He waits for his turn but discovers her wild secrets instead.

Ellen decides to let Julian into her life of glitz and faux confidence but she has no clue who Julian really is. Can they stop the attraction brewing between them? Can an escort and a recluse ever be made for each other?

I CANNOT BELIEVE L.H. COSWAY DID THAT. That woman requires a standing ovation from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Julian’s character is quite possibly unlike any character I’ve ever read. He is open about his sexuality and so far away from toxic masculinity that you cannot even imagine him saying something ignorant. I am so in awe of L.H. for giving us such an important character; one who isn’t afraid to be familiar with his feelings because “that’s what women do”. I can absolutely write a thesis about everything that is right and great and beautiful about Julian Fairchild and that would still be inadequate.

Ellen’s character is so damn relateable that I instantly connected to her. I understand what it is like to feel inadequate because people expect you to be a certain way; to feel that you have to act in a prescribed way because anything else is just abnormal. I absolutely love her growth throughout the story and I was so happy so proud that she found a way to come out of her shell.

This story is atypical, the characters are not ones you find in every novel but they are real, passionate and so so beautiful.

5 Stars!

Synopsis:
In this era of social media, we all pretend.

We pretend to be prettier, happier, more confident versions of ourselves, but not Ellen Grant. She takes it to a whole other level and pretends to be someone else entirely. Adopting the persona of a woman far more interesting is the only way she can break free of the socially awkward, romantically inept girl she really is.

And it’s all going swimmingly until she catches the eye of a man at her local coffee shop. Julian Fairchild has been noticing her for a while and he’s fascinated. Little does he know, the woman he thinks he’s obsessed with is a fake.

It’s not long before the jig is up, and Julian discovers Ellen’s true identity. However, he has a proposition. If she really wants to pretend, he can introduce her to a world where she can be anyone she wants. Ellen is intrigued by the prospect, and, blind to the nature of Julian’s profession as a male escort, closes her eyes and lets him lead the way.

Can Ellen keep her feelings in check while discovering a new world of thrills and excitement? And will Julian let it show that he isn’t entertaining Ellen purely out of the goodness of his heart?

Fauxmance is a standalone contemporary romance featuring characters first seen in L.H. Cosway’s Showmance.
