I cannot say it enough but NO ONE does angst like Debra Anastasia.

I have been eagerly waiting for Animal’s story since I read Mercy and it was worth everything.

This story was so unlike any other I’ve read. I was hanging onto every word and got 100% engrossed. This was a thrilling ride full of such surprise twists and turns that you’d never see them coming.

Animal is a complicated character. I adore him for the way he protects Nix and since Nix is my all round boo thang, I fell in love with Animal because of how he loved Nix. You have to admire him for his loyalty and kindness towards the people he loves. At the same time he is little bit of an idiot when it comes to recognizing true love. At one point, I was almost screaming at him to wake up and just bloody accepts that he is in love. It took some time but our mans figured it out.

T’s character is one of the most progressive female characters I’ve ever read and I won’t be lying if I say I have a huge crush on her. She might be a shy little thing but she knows how to protect the ones she holds dear. She is just an all-round badass who deserves all the happiness in the World.

I was so enthralled by this story that I forgot I have an actual life to live and I already miss these characters so much. That’s how great of an impact they have on me. It was riveting, raw, heart breaking and an extremely beautiful story.

5 Stars!

I named myself. I took the word animal out of their mouths, wore it like a badge of honor, then shoved it down their throats. I’ve fought for what I have. I see you coming before you even know you want a piece of me. In a city riddled with warring families, I’ll rise up between them. My people, the broken souls I gather, will have power by the time I’m done with them.

I protect mine.

Him. My brother, Nix.

Her. The girl that is the only home I’ve ever had. She knows me.

I’m coming at you, sweetness. Stay ready.
