Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.
Lex Harvey came to The Pit to find her missing friend. Someone who fights there must have the answers she’s seeking. Instead, she found him. The damage inside her matches the darkness inside him. She’s only eighteen, but the feelings she has for him are as old as time.
Beau Knight should have ruled New York. Falling in love was the beginning of his end. He watched her die and he lost his heart. Now, The Pit is his heaven and his hell. The only place he can be himself.
They’re both beyond fixing. Addicts, with desires humans couldn’t understand.
A soulless man and a souleating girl.
How do you find redemption from your demons when you are one?
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD THIS FREAKING BOOK!!!
Below you’ll see an accurate description of my feelings while reading this book.
Beau lost everything when his love and his heart were ripped away from him. Since that day, he lives his life as a caged beast who is only made up of rage, pain and darkness. Beau uses his darkness to fuel him because he can’t risk to feel anything else. All that changes when Lex walks into his life and wrecks havoc on everything he had built.
Lex knows that staying near Beau would only mean destruction for her. But the little soul eating monster inside of her craves the darkness that Beau exudes. She craves him even though the consequences of attaching herself to a soulless monster would be disastrous. Even through all this, some small part inside of her knows she can save Beau. But does he want to be saved?
Two demons on the brink of destruction. One a soulless beast and other a soul-eating low life. Can they be each other’s redemption? Or is their alliance a premonition of their impending doom?
Lex and Beau are probably the most convulated and tortured pair to have ever come together. He has literally had his heart ripped out and she has lived most of her life enduring the worst kinds of torture.
You would believe that love, redemption and happiness for such creatures is practically impossible. But joke’s on you because R. Scarlett is the genius that made love happen for two characters who were too far consumed by their pain.
I knew Lex and Beau’s journey would be filled with raw agony and too much was there to be resolved before they could have a happily ever after. I cried for these two poor babies who deserved all the love in this World. I wish I could dole out all the deets but theirs is a journey that you need to dive in head first so you could experience it it the best possible way.
I love love love Lex. She is such a strong and resilient character that you can’t help but admire her and her strength. And the fact that she never gave up on her loved ones and was ready to go to the ends of this Earth just made you adore her that much more.
Beau, oh my poor sweet dark souled man!!!! I cannot tell you in appropriate words how much I freaking LOVE Beau. He is broken beyond repair, he has been lonely and despaired but GODDAMN IT he is still so pure and caring and loving. *ugly crying* All, I wanted was for him to finally fall in love, get his heart back and make cute little demon babies with Lex. I am so so happy the way R. Scarlett did justice to his story.
Guys, I have come to the conclusion that no one bloody writes PNR like R. Scarlett. One moment you are like oh this is nice and the next moment it’s like OH GOD STOP THE HURT! She is a sorceress who will make you fall in love with her words and you’ll be helpless. IT’S THE BEST FUCKING THING!!!
