Callie Murphy is sullen, crass and really doesn’t like people. But she REALLY can’t stand Walker Rhodes. He is a pompous ass who makes every lady in the office swoon without effort. His smug pretty face makes her want to punch him but so far she has resisted such impulses. Unfortunately, this might be difficult to do in the comings months because her boss has ordered them to go on a cross country road trip together.
Walker is done with his job, his colleagues and basically the entire city. He is ready to leave it all behind when his boss offers him one last job. It would be a piece of cake except it’s with the office grump who hates his guts. He doesn’t understand her but knows the next couple of months will be a constant pain.
I absolutely love this gem of a story. It’s smart, quirky and one of the funniest heart-felt stories I’ve read.
I loved how layered Callie’s character was. Yes she is surly and foul mouthed but she is also sweet and adventurous and loves life. She is such a strong personality and GOD what a pure soul. She has a pretty strong presence throughout the book and I just love how she develops as the book progresses.
Walker, oh you dirty sweet bastard!!! I adore this man. Outwardly he seems like a playboy who is only interested in getting girls and doesn’t respect his job. But inside he is just a person tired of living through the motions. I am so fond of this man. He was sweet, filthy, hot and so caring. *ugly crying because he ain’t real* His relationship with his grandma made my day brighter.
Nicole Archer is a master at crafting stories, y’all!! She is so hilarious and her writing is so sharp and polished, I fell in love within the first chapter. I am so so excited to read her next projects because I just know they’ll make my heart happy.
