Two souls, drawn together beneath a fierce sky…
Calvin Ellis’s neat and orderly life is shattered when his grandfather dies, leaving him ownership of a quirky bookstore in Big Sur, California. The Mad Ones: once a place famous for poetry readings and bohemian rebellion, it now teeters on the brink of financial ruin.
Lucia Bell’s glamorous life as a super model is put into stark perspective when she shows up for a photo shoot, at a bookstore, in the middle of nowhere. She finds herself oddly intrigued by the quiet, nerdy owner with the huge glasses reading behind the register.
One night they share a passionate and frenzied kiss against a bookshelf. Outside the store, lightning strikes. Trees topple. And the world shakes beneath their feet.
As the storm tears its way through Big Sur, Calvin and Lucia share and explore their most secret desires. Hopes and dreams they once thought lost are recaptured. But inevitably, as reality roars back, they find themselves stuck at a crossroads.
Two conflicting paths. And each must make their own decision.
Which life will they choose? And will it include the other?
Three hundred and forty four million stars!!!
Calvin was living his order driven life and was fairly happy with it. But his grandfather suddenly died, leaving him in the possession of his beautiful quirky bookstore, The Mad Ones, in Big Sur, California along with crippling debt.
The only solution is to sell the store and cut his losses no matter how much his heart protests. He has time to decide what he’ll do and in the mean time the bookstore will cater as the location of a glamorous photo shoot.
Cal was expecting fashion, glitz, glamour and supermodels. What he wasn’t prepared for was having his World rocked by Lucia Bell. She is quite possibly the most gorgeous woman he has ever met and he cannot stop watching her.
She makes him blush. She makes his heart yearn for things that he dared to only ever thing. He dreams of passionate kisses, wanton touches and Lucia so gone for him that nothing can ever stop him from claiming her. But all of this is just a part of his elaborate fantasy. Because a woman like Lucia can’t possibly like him.
One kiss, one storm, one bookstore and two souls coming together.
Within reading the first couple chapters of this book, I was sure this story would imprint on my soul and it did that and so much more. I am in utter awe of everything that has even one bit to do with Bohemian.
Lucia’s character was such a beautiful one. She is so strong, so powerful and such a pure soul. I love and share her passion for reading and poetry. It was amazing to see her journey of finding her voice and making herself heard. It was such a glorious process.
Cal!! Oh MY CAL!!! He is the most amazing hero I have ever come across and I say that with 100% conviction. He is incredibly sweet and terribly shy but the absolute dirty thoughts he has?? They make me blush and swoon and sigh and GOD I JUST LOVE HIM. The dichotomy of his character, how he is hesitant one second but his passion for Lucia is a surety, made me adore him so much more. Not many are like my Cal and I will cherish him FOREVER.
Kathryn Nolan is the poetic maven I have always been waiting for. She is an artist through and through. Her writing, her stories, her story-telling is so very poetic. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything she writes and God I cherish her words too much.
This book will make your heart feel like it’s eating ice cream with Chris Evans on a beautiful roller coaster in the happiest place on this Earth. What I’m saying is leave everything you are doing and READ THIS DAMN BOOK.
About the Author
Kathryn Nolan writes erotic romance novels and quick-and-dirty novellas. She loves a smart, strong heroine. She likes her heroes filthy-mouthed (and not afraid to bend a little).
And she’s all about that slow-burn sexual tension.
When she’s not at her day job (which is top-secret) she enjoys feminism, foreplay and having her nose in a book.
She’s a morning writer, a bike commuter, and the world’s biggest X-Files fan.
