Review: THE ANIMAL UNDER THE FUR by E.J. Mellow

the animal under the fur

Nothing could have been better than this!!!!

Nashville brown a.k.a. 3, has been trained to be a killing machine all her life. Her heightened smell, hearing and sight and other deadly abilities make her just one step down from a superhuman. She could have been the deadliest criminal but with the right training she kills those who deserve it. Her only rule in life is to keep everyone at an arm’s length. That way nobody gets hurts.

Carter Smith is Casanova extraordinaire. No one is strong enough to resist his charms. His tempting smile paired with extra ordinary kill skills make him a very dangerous man who always conquers his missions. But even he couldn’t have anticipated the force that is K-Op 3.

They might hate each other but they have to work together to bring down notorious criminals and bring down an entire operation that involves a deadly weapon. Can they put aside their differences and work together, when everything they’ve ever worked for is on the line?

can I just say that this was one of the best thought out action books I’ve EVER read? This was absolutely like watching a movie. In fact, it was better than most action movies. The detailing and all those “super-hero” weaponry was 110% believable. The plot was brilliant and the characters superbly plotted.

I am irrecoverably in love with Carter and Nashville. (mostly Nashville) Their chemistry is off the charts hot. Yes, most of the time they wanted to kill each other but their passion and banter made my heart happy.

I can say without a doubt that Nashville is my most favourite female character EVER!!!!! She is loyal, fiercely protective and so darn funny. Yes I say funny. Her sense of humour is twisted but so is mine. I have such a huge crush on her. It also helps a lot that she can kill anyone within seconds. I want to be her when I grow up.*heart eyes*

Oh my Carter!!!! I love this guy. He is the right kind of cocky, confident, good and a little bit bad. He isn’t perfect at all. But everything about him is admirable. Also I just want to hug him. And maybe make out with him a little.

I have my doubts about E.J. Mellow being a superhuman herself because mere mortals cannot do what she did with this book. I adore her writing and she is such a clever story teller. I was hooked from page 1.

This book absolutely deserves 5+ Stars!

Synopsis:

From award-winning author E. J. Mellow comes an action romance dripping with vengeful delight.

Orphaned on the streets as a baby, Nashville Brown, a.k.a Kill Operative 3, knows better than to rely on anyone. With heightened senses and superhuman strength to survive, she’s been raised as the perfect assassin.

The trick to her success? Keeping everyone, even her best friend, at arm’s length.

Losing his entire family in the span of a year, Carter Smith left his ability to love buried deep in their graves. His only concerns now are completing his missions and effortlessly charming the next temptress to warm his bed.

The key to his accomplishments? Working alone mixed with a Casanova smile.

But when a deadly weapon needs to be stopped from falling into the wrong hands, the lone wolves find themselves thrown into an explosive partnership. Can Carter and 3 lower their guns aimed at one another long enough to succeed, or will their unwillingness to compromise end up destroying more than their perfect records? Whatever their differences, both agree on one thing—in the game of lies and deceit, the line between friend and foe is often blurred by blood splatter.

The Animal Under The Fur is a hate-to-loath-to-love standalone novel filled with savagery, secrets, and enough angst to wrinkle the pages you’ll find gripped in your hands.
